A Day at Roosevelt: Special Events/Days

Special Events:
Com-Chee Kickoff--Second week of each session.  Kicks off the start of the Indian Tribal competition.
4th of July--Rib barbecue and fireworks.  Parents and families invited for dinner, evening activity and Fireworks
Camper Show--Musical Theater production on last night of camp--parents invited.
Horse Show--Last afternoon of each session.....parents invited.
Socials--Themes like Hawaiian Luau, 70's disco, roaring 20's, Mexican Fiesta, etc.
Camper Skit Night/Talent Show--Cabin groups come up with silly and/or creative skits.
Counselor Show--Skits and talents performed by counselors.

Special Days:
Election Day--3rd Wednesday of each session;  President and Vice President become camp directors for one day (supervised, of course).
Pow Wow Day--Last Wednesday of each session.  Grand Finale of Com-Chee/Souix-Chip wars.
Pirate Tuesday on Wednesday--dress up as pirates, treasure hunt, and other pirate competitions and games.
Backwards Day--everything is backward.

Optional Overnight Trips:
Mohican State Park--canoeing, hiking and overnight canoe trip.
White Water Rafting--some of the most exciting white water and high adventure in North America (must be 12 or older)
Hocking Hills State Forest--caving, hiking overnight camp out.
Horseback Riding--ride and camp out.
Hardman Farm Canoe trip--canoe across the lake and camp-out on a farm.  Ping-pong, fishing, camp-fire, and more.

Optional Day Trips:
Tappan Lake--water skiing, tubing, picnicing, pontoon boat on nearby Lake which allows faster boats.
Fishing Trip--fish for musky, walleye, bluegill, crappie and catfish on our own Leesville Lake, which is famous for its fishing, especially musky.
