"Been there. Done that." It's a flip phrase we've all used, but one that could easily apply to the staff at Camp Roosevelt for Boys. They have both been and done. The majority of our staff know the camp and programs very well because they came here as youngsters and have worked their way through the camper ranks. The best camps are like that. Campers become attached and return faithfully year after year to pass on their knowledge and skills to a new generation of campers.

Other staff members are screened by the international program "Camp America," or are carefully selected from a variety of college and respected camp placement services. Old and new staff members arrive early every year for a one-week training course where they are certified or re-certified in CPR and First Aid, trained in water rescues, boating safety and cabin rules. In addition, they develop creative, progressive and safe program plans.

They're devoted, caring an responsible young women and men who have the leadership qualities we all admire!
